Jennifer {Brayberry Farm Bridals}

This past weekend we had the privilege of taking pictures of the sweetest couple! Mt. Nebo was gorgeous last Saturday as Jennifer and Wesley got married. A week and a half before their wedding (four days before we left for summer camp) we made a trip to Brayberry Farm for Jenny's bridals.

The first time we visited Brayberry was on our actual wedding day when Melissa took our "after the ceremony pictures." You know you're a photographer when you want another photoshoot after the wedding. :) Since then we have been IN LOVE with the location and have been dying to get out there. Jennifer just to happened to mention that as her location of choice and of course we were super excited!

The day was hot but it was beautiful and the farm is one of the prettiest spots in the county (if not the prettiest).

When Jennifer got out of the car both of our jaws dropped on the ground because her dress was absolutely stunning! We were so excited about taking her pictures and I think you will understand when you see her JAW-DROPPING dress for yourself. :)

This rooster wanted to be a part of the shoot :) (at least I think it's a rooster, there's so many different animals there!!)

Told you her dress was G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!! :P

Aimee | Landon {Old State House Wedding}

Hello everyone!

Today has been my 5th day of "summer break" and it's the first day I've actually slowed down enough to work on thank you cards. No, I haven't had a party in the last month, these thank you cards are from our wedding!! *cue embarrassed face* Yes, it is true, I haven't sent them out yet. I know it's like total wedding taboo to not send them out like at least a month after but HEY, I've been busy!

Speaking of busy, Aimee and Landon's wedding has caused quite a buzz as of late. If you remember, we posted Aimee's beautiful bridals on Wednesday and actually I sent The Wedding Post of Arkansas their wedding pictures the previous day. TODAY, their pictures are featured on TWP blog! Yay! A big thanks to Anne-Claire who is always so patient with us and excited about posting our images. :)

So, since TWP posted their images today you can hop on over to their blog {here} to see what they had to say. AND just to wet your appetites here's an exclusive sneak peek of the GORGEOUS bride and groom. :)

Happy, Happy FRIDAY everyone! :)

Aimee {Old State House Bridals}

Back in April, Lance had the privilege of taking Aimee's (now Mrs. Sanders) bridals at their GORGEOUS wedding venue. We were SO excited when we learned that Landon and Aimee were getting married in May at the Old State House in Little Rock, AR. Since we were not in "blogger world" at the time of their engagements, here's a peek at the beautiful couple:

 Told you they were beautiful! :)

Aimee's dress was absolutely amazing and her make-up & hair were perfection. I hope you enjoy her bridals as much as we enjoyed taking them!

Hello, Old Friend :)

Hello blogger world! Long time, no see!

I'm a little embarrassed to be writing this blog today because the last time I sat at this spot was last September! Whoops! We really do have a good excuse though. It seemed like life happened and our blog was something that took the backseat.

Here's a little update on our lives these past 9 or so months:

I (Kathryn) finished a WHOLE year of teaching 5th grade for the first time. I still have most of my hair and my beautician is doing a great job of covering up the gray (I'm sure it is there). I honestly had no clue how much blood, sweat and tears went into teaching.  I will never, ever, have to repeat my first year, AND BOY AM I GLAD! In all honesty, I would do it again because it was absolutely amazing. It feels wonderful to be getting paid for what you are called to do!

Here's a pic of me and some of my kiddos on the last day of school (excuse the poor iPhone front facing camera quality, haha). We had a great year!

Another big event happened in our lives since we last spoke, and it made our business go from "Shingleur & Young" to "Shingleur & Shingleur." That's right! We finally tied the knot! :) We had an AMAZZZZINGGGG wedding on March 16, complete with 75 degrees and sunny weather. We had almost 300 guest who came to celebrate and our decorations really transformed our home church. Our wonderful photographer friend, Melissa McCrotty, captured our special day for us, and the pictures turned out to be even more than what we could have dreamed! We completed our wonderful celebration with a fabulous trip to Cozumel, Mexico. (P.S. I WANT TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW!!)

One of my favorite photos from the day!

Here's a picture from our Honeymoon. We stayed at Aura Secrets Resorts, and it was heaven! :)

So now, our lives are finally starting to become "normal." (Not sure "us" and "normal" can fit into the same sentence, haha)

Even though our blog has been sluggish, our business has not! So far, since starting our business one year ago we have gotten to shoot 15ish weddings with MANY more to come in 2013. We are having an AMAZING time and we are so thankful for God sending our clients to us. Our clients seem so much more like friends than customers really. :)

So, now that our blog world is updated on "The Shingleur's" keep your eyes peeled this week for an amazing post of one of our past weddings in May!

Happy, Happy Monday everyone!

Christa | Blane {Engagement Session}

Howdy Y'all!

Whew! What a whirlwind month! We haven't posted in almost a month, but I think we have a pretty good excuse. Lance started back to Tech and is carrying a full load, while I started my teaching career at Upper Elementary 5th Grade at Russellville. I love all 51 of my kiddos and Lance...doesn't love college, haha. I'm pretty sure no one ever truly loves college. We have a really full plate, but in the middle of our big "mess" we have had some time to meet up with some wonderful clients and snap some pictures.
Two weeks ago we finally met the lovely Christa and her hilarious fiancé Blane. We had so much fun with them at their engagement shoot! It is so easy to photograph people who are truly in love, and you can tell that these two definitely are.
Here is their "love" story from Christa's point of view:

Like many other couples, we met at a restaurant. I was working at Papa's diner in my tiny hometown of Havana when three smelly boys came in from a softball tournament to eat lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It's funny how you remember silly little details. Blane ordered a Western burger with onion rings and asked for countless refills of Mountain Dew. I was immediately attracted to his sense of humor and remember thinking after they left the diner that if I had my pick, I'd choose Blane. (Sorry, Dewey and Thomas). :) I kept thinking about how Blane looked so familiar, but thought maybe he had just been in the restaurant before. However, the next week, I ran into him on campus at Tech and realized I had passed by him every week on my way to class! Neither of us knew that the other even went to Tech. We talked for a minute, found each other on Facebook, of course, and the rest is history!

Isn't that too sweet? Blane is pretty sweet too it seems, because according to Christa, he planned up the perfect birthday proposal atop of beautiful Mount Magazine.

When Christa scheduled their engagement session she mentioned that she might like to do a few pictures inside of a movie theater, and of course we LOVED the idea. We managed to pull a few strings and were able to shoot a few inside of Picwood Theater in Russellville, AR. (Big shout out to Picwood and John Austin for allowing us to photograph inside their theater in such short notice) . So glad it worked out because the photos turned out SUPER cute! :)

Christa you are absolutely GORGEOUS!

Blane is a coach at Western Yell, so of course we had to throw in some baseball ;)

Christa and Blane, we had so much fun with you guys and we cannot WAIT until your gorgeous wedding in October! It will be here before we know it!

Happy Happy Friday Eve Everyone!
