Emma | Brett {Engagements}

Hey everyone!

Lance have had a wonderful week looking through and editing some of the cutest engagement photos we've ever gotten the privilege to take. I know I say that every time, but it's true!

Last Saturday we were finally able to meet up with Emma and Brett at his parents gorgeous farm. After editing the photos I asked Emma if she would send us their love story, and boy is it a tear jerker! Of course I'm always a sucker for a good love story...but seriously this is too cute.

Here is their love story from Emma's point of view:

The Love story of Brett & Emma

It all began with a prayer.  I said a prayer one night for God to fill my heart and to help me trust in his decisions and timing.  I asked for him to put the right man into my life on his time when he felt I was ready.  Maybe a week later on a Friday afternoon I walked into Berry Drug in Dardanelle to pick up a prescription for my boss.  I went into the pharmacy not paying attention to any particular person, I just wanted to get the medicine and get back to work. The following Monday I got a call from someone in the Bank's proof department. The proof department girls had recently tried to connect me with someone else that I was not interested in. So when they called stating that they found me a "man" I automatically said "NO, I DON'T THINK SO". They tried to reassure me this was worth hearing, so to humor them I listened to what they had to say.  They asked if I noticed anyone in the pharmacy while I was there on the previous Friday, I said, "no was I supposed to?"  They continued on to tell me that the "man" they found me is the pharmacist at Berry Drug, he is single, in a band, has no kids, and owns his own home.  My first thought is, ok this one may be worth hearing about so lets find out some more information on this one. I should add this information was being relayed through another one of the bank branches who was talking to one of the ladies at Berry Drug, so there were actually a lot of individuals involved in the beginning of the Brett & Emma love story.   By Wednesday of that week I passed on my phone number growing tired of having to hear everything through the grapevine. By early Thursday afternoon I finally got to hear from Brett himself rather than everyone else.  By Saturday evening we finally got to hang out so he played his guitar for me and we talked and watched movies till 5am not even realizing what time it had gotten to be. When I left that morning I left with the biggest smile on my face that I think I have ever had in my life. I instantly knew that Brett was different, no ordinary guy.  The most interesting part of our whole story is that the prayer that I had was not just mine, Brett prayed for the same thing just the night before I walked into the pharmacy.  When Brett told me this I knew for sure that this was God's work putting us together and I could trust the scary road ahead of me.

On June 2nd Brett decided on his day off that he needed to pop the question that day that he couldn't wait any longer. So he went to LeAnn's and picked out a ring that looked nothing like what I had picked out.  Brody had a baseball game later that night so once I got home from work we went into get ready for the game mode.  Brett was following me around the house like a lost puppy but I couldn't figure out what the deal was.  As I was finishing up getting ready I heard Brody ask what the box in the living room was for, but I thought nothing of what he was asking or Brett's answer to the question.  So as I was trying to walk out the door Brett took my hand and led me to the living room where I found a huge cardboard box. I asked Brett what the box was and he said I don't know why don't you open it. So with a huge grin because I love surprises I began to open the box. Once the box was opened I saw another box to open just to find yet another box to open. Brett stood over me watching me open each box. In the middle of opening all the boxes Brody said, "I know what's inside the boxes" (he was right but he whispered it in Brett's ear so I couldn't hear).  After opening 7 boxes I finally came across a bag from LeAnn's. Pulling the bag out I thought to myself there is no way this is what I wish it would be. I stuck my hand into the bag to find yet another box. I opened this last box to find a jewelry box. I opened the box to find the most beautiful ring I've ever seen.  I looked at Brett completely shocked and more excited than I can describe as he got down on one knee and asked the infamous question, "Will you marry me?"

So sweet right? Their engagements are just as sweet; see for yourself! :)

Yay! We can't wait for their gorgeous October wedding!

On another note, Lance and I are going on summer vacation before I have to go back to work at 5th grade. We are leaving this afternoon and will not be back until next Thursday. Feel free to email us still but we will probably not reply until we get home next week! :)

Happy, Happy Friday!
